WHAT IS THE DESIGN PROCESS AND WHAT’S INCLUDED
Experience, creativity and flexibility are three qualities that make Blue Ridge Timber Frame a successful custom DESIGN-BUILD company. With our many years of experience in timber frame construction as well as general construction, there are very few site considerations and extraordinary design wishes that we have not seen. We use this experience and combine it with the knowledge that your job is unique, requiring a solution that is based on your life-style, desires, and the site location. We approach every job this way and it has earned us long-term relationships with customers who are thrilled with their exceptional timber frame homes.
Our interactive design process results in a package that is ready for financial application and permit/code/architectural reviews compliant.
- Foundation/Site Plan…this plan integrates the actual timber frame into the required foundation. It includes all load points and the necessary drawings to execute a code compliant foundation particular to the site.
- Floor Plans…this is the translation of your desires/needs into a floor plan design that is the actual timber frame plan. It will also identify all of the interior walls and the necessary components of the house, including the rough placement of utilities.
- Roof Plans…these drawings indicate the shape of your roof and include all necessary information for constructing whether it is a timber frame with SIP enclosure or conventionally built.
- Exterior Elevations…these are the compass views of all four sides of the structure and show the integration of the house to the foundation/site.
- 3D perspectives…these are interior and exterior renderings of your customized project that enable you to see it before you build it.
- Shop Drawings…these are drawings of each timber frame piece showing all the joinery and specialized fabrication information. They are used for the production of your timber frame structure.
- Timber Frame Schematics…these drawings are used to facilitate the installation for your timber frame. They are comprised of part lists, 3d views, plan views, elevations, sections and details that are unique to your timber frame.
- Structural Insulated Panel (SIPs) Drawings…these drawings are used to fabricate and install the pre-cut SIP package unique to your project. They include all necessary details for assembling your wall and roof enclosure.
